CSIR
The CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) is a South African parastatal organization that conducts scientific and technology research as well as development and implementations. Intended to support innovation in South Africa to improve national competitiveness in the global economy, science and technology services and solutions are provided in support of various stakeholders. Opportunities are also identified where new technologies can be further developed and exploited in the private and public sectors for commercial and social benefit.

DWAF
The Department of Water and Environmental Affairs (DWEA), previously known as The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) is the custodian of South Africa’s water and forestry resources. It is primarily responsible for the formulation and implementation of policy governing these two sectors. It also has override responsibility for water services provided by local government.

WISA
The Water Institute of South Africa (WISA) is a section 21 company that keeps its members abreast of the latest developments in water technology and research through its national and international liaison, links and affiliations. Currently the Institute has approximately 1800 members drawn from all spheres of employment and varying disciplinary backgrounds.

WRC
The South African Water Research Commission (WRC) maintains, develops and supports a central repository of water-related knowledge in South Africa by funding scientific water research at recognized institutions and government organisations serving the water sector. In doing so, the WRC provides the country with applied knowledge and water-related innovation, by continuously translating needs into research ideas and, in turn, transferring research results and disseminating knowledge and new technology-based products and processes to end-users
